Someone
else holds
your key
BLOCKRN shuts your worst apps at the OS level — no VPN trick, no force-quit, no reboot around it. And there is no unlock button. To get back in, a friend has to hand you a phrase, and you have to say it out loud.

Name your poison
Pick the apps that eat your day. BLOCKRN hands them to iOS Screen Time, which shields them natively.
They shut, properly
Force-quit it, reboot the phone, delete nothing — the shield holds. There is no self-serve way to lift it.
You have to ask
One call goes out to your squad. The first friend to answer takes control of your session and writes your phrase.
You say it out loud
At least five words, chosen by them, typed by them. You speak it; speech-to-text checks it. No typing your way around it.
What's your
poison?
The app asks it in exactly those words, and it isn't being polite about the answer. Tick the ones that are eating you — TikTok, Instagram, X, YouTube, or type in your own. Whatever you tick gets handed to iOS and shut.

WHAT'S YOUR
POISON?
Identify the digital sinkholes currently liquidating your potential. Be honest. We already know.
The lobotomy of the 21st century. Endless scrolling to satisfy an algorithm that knows you better than your mother.
Comparison is the thief of joy. Watch high-performance humans live lives you'll never afford from your sofa.
The global screaming match. Engage with bad-faith actors until your blood pressure hits triple digits.
Argue with your distant relatives about politics while your data is harvested by a megalomaniac.
THE 'OTHER' DESTROYER
The way out is a person, not a button
Every exit routes through someone who is not you
Start an open-ended block with an empty squad and the app simply refuses. It won't let you lock yourself in with no one to call.
Beg for
mercy
That is the actual label on the actual button. Pressing it does not unlock anything — it tells four people that you couldn't hold out, and then it waits.

- 01
The distress call
A scheduled block has no bypass. One call goes out to your whole squad at once, and the first friend to answer takes control of your session.
- 02
Or one specific person
On a manual session you choose: signal everyone and let them race, or nominate the one friend you know will make you sit in it.
- 03
They write the phrase
Minimum five words, typed by them. You never see it until they hand it over, and they can make it as stupid as they like.
- 04
You have to speak it
The phrase is checked against speech-to-text, fuzzy-matched. Out loud, wherever you happen to be standing.

Hard to
wriggle out of
Written down plainly, because the whole thing only works if you know in advance that it won't bend for you later.
- Enforcement
- Native iOS Screen Time and DeviceActivity. Blocking holds through a force-quit, a reboot, or the app being killed outright.
- Scheduled blocks
- Recurring weekly windows — social apps, weekdays, 9 to 6. Once a window is live it cannot be edited or switched off.
- Weakening a schedule
- Never while its window is running. Outside of that, one weakening change per 48 hours. That's the whole allowance.
- Strengthening one
- Unlimited, any time. Adding a schedule, tightening a window, turning one back on — always allowed, instantly.
- Manual sessions
- Start one on demand, timed or open-ended. A timed session runs out on its own. An open-ended one ends when someone lets you out.
- No accomplices
- Try to start an open-ended session with an empty squad and the app refuses. There would be no way out, so it won't begin.
- Your phrase
- Minimum five words, written by a friend. Verified by speech, fuzzy-matched — close enough counts, typed doesn't.
- Adding friends
- Username search, or one text message. They hold your key, so it's worth picking people who enjoy that.
Hand over the key
Pick your worst apps, add the friends who'd enjoy holding your escape phrase, and find out how it feels to need someone else's permission.
